I cant open archive mpegs in qucktime.

I have just switched to an intel mac so I guess this is the problem as QT would open them on my old mac g5.

VLC will open them but I cant export the mpegs from there and need to get the mpegs into after effects etc.

If anyone has experienced something similar or has a solution please let me know.

Are you sure you have QT Pro on the new machine?

Free 3rd party options which I have heard about are Streamclip and ffmpegX.

thanks for your help. id tried googling but couldnt find anything, your links lead me to QuickTime MPEG-2 Playback Component, another £15UKP !!!!!!!!

working fine now
